Every fifth Tuesday, Two-Steppin’ Tuesdays at Shoeshine Charley’s Big Top Lounge takes a darker turn with SWAMPY TONK — a recurring takeover from Houston duo Saint Judas & The Black Hymns.
Rooted in outlaw country, blues, gospel, and Gulf Coast grit, Saint Judas & The Black Hymns bring a stripped-down, heavy-hitting live show led by Raul “Trey” Alvarez on guitar/vocals and Angel Reyna on drums. Their sound pulls from the working-class spirit of Houston and the deep Southern atmosphere of the Texas coast — raw, loud, and built for late nights.
SWAMPY TONK returns on haunted September 29th at the Big Top Lounge and returns every time a rare fifth Tuesday rolls around. Same dance floor. Different kind of energy.
Expect twang, grit, whiskey-soaked guitar, and a little swamp creeping into honky tonk night.
