Zen Archer - Saturday Night Show LIVE at the Continental Club
Zen Archer is a legendary Houston-based progressive pop-rock band formed in 1988. Known for Beatles-esque melodies and complex rock arrangements, the group features members Dan Golvach, Randy Miller, Steve Wilson, and Michael Grammar. Their influences range from Led Zeppelin, Crowded House to Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd and Todd Rundgren.
Zen Archer became a notable part of the city's '90s scene, losing to ZZ Top for Best Rock Band of Houston and receiving extensive airplay on KLOL, Texas Radio, and Z107. They played major local festivals including Party on the Plaza, HoustonFest, FreedomFest, and the International Festival, sharing stages with Bruce Hornsby, Roger McGuinn, Eddie Money, Bo Diddley, and Mark Farner.
The band released three albums during their initial run — Under the Sun, What Goes Around, and Dream Machine — drawing influence from the Beatles, Todd Rundgren, and Pink Floyd. After a break, they returned with Best of Zen Archer Vol. 1 (2010) and the 18-track In the Meantime, proving they were just as fresh as in their mid-'90s heyday.
We are so excited to welcome Zen Archer to the stage at Continental Club Houston for the first time on Saturday, September 26th at 8pm! Doors open at 7!
