RETROFUTURA 30TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
Recorded with bandmates Charlie Knight and John Hamilton, Retrofutura captured a young Houston band on the rise. Soon after, they set out to see the world through the windshield of an Econoline van, carrying their Texas-bred sound across the country and beyond.
Thirty years later, Sayers’ full band returns to McGonigel’s Mucky Duck to celebrate the album with the first-ever vinyl release of Retrofutura and a special performance spanning his career, with a heavy focus on the songs that started the journey.
The evening will also honor the memory of original bandmates Charlie Knight and John Hamilton, whose musicianship and friendship helped shape the sound and spirit of Retrofutura.
