Formed in 2020 by guitarist/producer Julian Martinez and bassist/vocalist Matthew Newton, Midnight Spies released the In This House EP (2024) and follow-up singles including "The Owl Sees All" and "Play It Like New York." The duo self-produce their recordings—Martinez taught himself production, mixing and mastering—and have appeared on music blogs and podcasts while preparing a debut album expected in 2026.
