Daniele Rustioni trained at the Milan Conservatory, La Scala Academy, Accademia Musicale Chigiana and the Royal Academy of Music. He has held leadership posts including Music Director of the Opéra National de Lyon, Music Director Laureate of the Ulster Orchestra and Conductor Emeritus of the Orchestra della Toscana, and is Principal Guest Conductor at the Metropolitan Opera and the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra. He was named Best Conductor at the International Opera Awards (2022) and has recorded for labels including Deutsche Grammophon, Sony Classical and Naxos.
